The Bill Faulkner Memorial Award for Best PhD Paper
Bill Faulkner (1945-2002), Professor of Tourism at Griffith University and Deputy CEO of Australian's Centre of Co-operative Research in Sustainable Tourism, was widely know internationally for his publications in many research journals and many contributions at conferences. In Australia, he was deservedly regarded as one of Australia's most prominent leaders of research on tourism. Professor Faulkner was instrumental in the formation of CAUTHE and the development of its annual conference into one of the foremost international tourism and hospitality research conferences.
The Council proudly offers this award in memory of Bill. It was introduced at the 2002 Annual Conference in Fremantle to honour the memory and recognise the influence of the work of Professor Bill Faulkner. The Award was made available through the generous contribution of several of its University members and sponsors.
CAUTHE awards the best PhD paper $1,000 and the student also receives a certificate, generally presented at the Annual Conference Dinner.

The CAUTHE Award for Best Full Paper
This award of AUD$1,000 is open to all refereed papers submitted and accepted for the Annual CAUTHE Conference. This annual award is for refereed papers submitted to the Annual Conference Committee in full, by a date specified by that committee. A double blind, peer reviewed selection process is used for conference papers and referees are requested to nominate the best papers submitted to the conference. A sub-committee of the Scientific Committee then judges these nominated papers.
Papers and Winners are notified prior to commencement of the annual conference and are invited to be presented with the prize and a certificate at the Annual Conference Dinner. Criteria for this award are available on the criteria for prizes page.

The Scientific Committee's Award For Best Poster Presentation
The committee is pleased to announce the inaugural prize for best poster presentation of AUD $1000. The criteria for the prize are given in the guidelines for poster presentations available on the criteria for prizes page, and the winner selected by the scientific committee.
