Manly Beach

The venue for CAUTHE 2007 is the Manly Pacific Hotel, on the beach front at the Sydney suburb of Manly, which boasts one of Australia's first tourism slogans – 7 miles from Sydney, a 1000 miles from care. As the picture to the right shows it is a peninsula that is surrounded on three sides by Sydney Harbour (Port Jackson), the Pacific Ocean and the entrance to Sydney harbour, known as Sydney Heads. This makes it a most apposite venue for a conference on the serious side of tourism and hospitality. A photographic description of Manly and the district of Sydney known as the northern Beaches of which Manly is a part, can be found at http://manlyaustralia.com.

The conference hotel has all the comfort that a Novotel property from Accor provides excellent facilities for both plenary and breakout sessions. Details of the conference venue are available at http://www.accorhotels.com.

Manly has much to offer the visitor, and details of its many attractions are available at http://www.manlytourism.com.au. The Tuesday afternoon of the conference will be available to explore some of the recreation and sporting facilities of Manly and Sydney. Details of the many attractions of Sydney – regularly voted as one of the world's must sees by Traveller magazine are available at http://www.sydneyaustralia.com.

Transportation from the Airport to Manly is available by public transport (train, ferry, and walk) but an effective option is to book the Manly/Airport shuttle available on the go manly website. A taxi fare would be about $60.
